I chose to do melodramatic because middle school is a time of a lot of emotions - both for students and teachers. I don't necessarily see being melodramatic or emotional as a bad thing.
I put insanely gratifying because from the little bit of experience I've had, teaching is amazing. I feel that once I am actually doing it, all of the hard work I've done to get to that point will be worth it.
I then put dedication is important because if you aren't dedicated to it, what is the point of doing something you don't want to do? I also put this because in the reading in The Successful Middle School, the National Middle School Association (or AMLE) was dedicated to their cause and caused nationwide change.
I wrote different because middle school is different in many ways. It is different from elementary school for students; it is a more serious time in their educational career, and it is a big change for them. It is also a time where they personally change, and are different from who they were in middle school. I also think it is important to celebrate students' differences it is what makes them unique and who they are.
I then wrote learning everyday because both students and teachers are learning everyday. Obviously students are learning content, but they are learning more about themselves everyday. Teachers are also learning about their students, and what works and doesn't work in their classroom. It is a learning experience for both parties.
Lastly, I wrote everyday is a new day because this is the time for students to make mistakes and learn from them. Everyday is a chance to start over and do something else you want to do. Everyday they also will learn something new, either about themselves or the content.
Hi Alayna, I agree 100% with your M-i-d-d-l-e Blog. I really love the creativity that you brought to it. I honestly agree with each letter and what you created. For melodramatic. What if you do have a situation where this happens, what would be an advice for someone who isn't yet a teacher and is studying education and may go through this?
