Something that really stuck out to me was about multitasking. I remember in middle school always being told I needed to learn how to multitask, because life is about multitasking. The quote reads, “The brains of those who multitask are actually only performing one task at a time - although they may be switching back and forth quickly, only one cognitive task is being completed… Three researchers discovered that those who multitask are much more inefficient than they would be if they merely focused on one task at a time.” (pg 27) I think that teaching kids to multitask or telling them they need to multitask is not an efficient method of teaching. I think that I had a harder time trying to learn knowing that I needed to multitask as well.
